  • Can I give a membership as a gift?
    Not yet. This is something we are working on.
  • When I subscribe, how long does my membership last?
    Your membership will last for one year from the date that you signed up unless you have signed up for a Lifetime membership.
  • Can my son or daughter join INDY DownForce if he/she is under the age of 13?
    No, INDY DownForce is only open to persons 13 years and older.
Membership Levels
  • Rookie Level Benefits - All New Members
  • Veteran Level Benefits - Total (Cumulative) points of 15,000 or more
  • Crew Level Benefits - Total (Cumulative) points of 25,000 or more. Private access access to Crew Level forums and End of Year INDY DownForce gathering.
Lost or Stolen Membership Cards
  • I lost my membership card OR my card was stolen, how do I get a new one?
    Please send an email to downforce@indycar.com and include "Need New Card" in the subject line. A new card will be mailed to you within 1 to 2 weeks. Please note that you will not be able to keep your current account number. Once you report the card missing or stolen your old account number will be terminated.
Volunteering
  • How do I volunteer for INDY DownForce?
    Go to the Event Information page and click on Volunteer. Select which day(s) you are able to volunteer and fill out the form (which may already be auto-populated based on the information in your Profile) and submit your information. An INDY DownForce representative will contact you regarding needs in the market in which you are available at least one weeks prior to the event.
  • What do I get & what to wear?
    Volunteers who work a minimum of 2 consecutive hours will receive 1500 points for your volunteerism. Members who work 4 or more hours throughout the course of the day will be awarded 2000 points. We'll outfit you in an INDY DownForce shirt for working the event. If you already have a shirt from previous volunteerism with INDY DownForce, please plan to wear it. Please wear shorts/pants and shoes that you will be comfortable in for standing and walking while interacting with other fans.
  • What do I do if I lose my confirmation email?
    If you no longer have this email, please send an email to downforce@indycar.com and downforcevolunteers@gmail.com with "Need Volunteer Details" in the subject line for whatever race you are inquiring about.
  • Who is in charge?
    There will be an INDY DownForce Official on site at each race that will direct all volunteers to their appropriate locations and answer any questions. Prior to your arrival at the event an INDY DownForce Coordinator will contact you with time and location details of where to report.
  • Is there an official code of conduct?
    Professional conduct must be observed at all times. This does NOT mean you can't have fun - quite the opposite! But, you have been entrusted as a steward of the IndyCar Series, Indy Pro Series and INDY DownForce. No Profanity allowed at any time while working. No Alcohol or Tobacco will be permitted at any time while working. Failure to comply with these rules may result in loss of points for volunteering on that given day and may be cause for removal from the volunteer list for that event weekend.
    • What time do the Volunteers start?
      Please see the email that you received from INDY DownForce that outlines this program for you. If you no longer have this email, please send an email to downforce@indycar.com and downforcevolunteers@gmail.com with "Need Volunteer Details" in the subject line for whatever race you are inquiring about.
    • Where do I go to Volunteer?
      Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated. In an effort to be efficient with your time and ours, we will only be accepting Volunteers during the outlined times under the EVENT INFORMATION > Volunteer section on the INDY DownForce website.
Race Tickets
  • How do I purchase race tickets?
    Call the new IndyCar Series National Ticket Hotline at 866-INDYCAR. Or, dial the track directly. Their phone numbers are listed on their websites which you can link to directly via indycar.com. Information can also be found on the Event Information section of the INDY DownForce site. Refund and Lost Ticket policies can also be found on individual track websites.
  • When will I received race tickets I won through INDY DownForce?
    In many cases, the INDY DownForce Membership Team will not receive race tickets until a couple weeks prior to an event. Please be patient for receipt o f your tickets. If you would like to ensure your tickets are forthcoming, please email downforce@indycar.com with all of your membership information and any confirmation emails you might have received regarding your prize.
  • Is there an INDY DownForce ticket block at the races?
    INDY DownForce ticket blocks will be saved pending track approval. It is something the INDY DownForce Membership Team strives for but cannot guarantee. Much of this approach depends on when you purchase your tickets. Any special ticket promotions or locations will be announced on the INDY DownForce site several weeks prior to the event.
Billing Questions
  • Do I get a receipt?
    Yes. If you sign up online you can print out your confirmation page as your receipt. If you signed up on-site, you will need to write down your confirmation number, as there will not be a printer available.  
  • Are there refunds?
    There are absolutely no refunds for any reason.
  • What are the methods of payment?
    Memberships are only sold via kiosks or online and accept only credit card payment. If you have no way to pay by credit card and would like to become a member, please contact the INDY DownForce Membership Team at downforce@indycar.com.
  • What type of cards will be accepted?
    INDY DownForce accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express for online payments.
  • How will this appear on my credit card statement?
    Your membership payment will appear as a charge from the Indy Racing League.
  • Is this a secure website?
    All payment information submitted on the INDY DownForce website is secured using 128-Bit SSL encryption for your protection. This security is noted by a lock icon on your web browser.
Pre-Race Parties
  • Where and when is the next pre-race party?
    Pre-Race Parties are held on Race day at every U.S. domestic IndyCar Series event. Specific times and locations can be found under the Event Information section. Pre-Race Parties will typically start 3-4 hours prior to green flag of the IndyCar Series race, and end at least ½ hour prior to the beginning of Pre-Race Ceremonies.
  • Can I bring my friends and family to the Pre-Race Party?
    Friends and family are welcome to attend the pre-race party with you if they have registered for a Free Trial membership. Each INDY DownForce member is allowed up to three guests per party if under the age of 13. Guests over the age of 13 who wish to attend the Pre-Race Party must sign up for a Free Trial membership in order to attend. No RSVP is needed to attend.
  • Will there be food or beverage at the party?
    No.
  • Can I bring my own food or beverage?
    Absolutely. If alcohol is being consumed, please abide by U.S. law and venue policies.
  • Can I smoke in the tent?
    No. Smoking is prohibited.
  • What if I forgot my membership card?
    In years past, members with forgotten membership cards have been permitted. Moving forward, to keep INDY DownForce standards high and ensure customer service, we will be enforcing that a scannable membership card (or temporary card if you're new) must be in each member's possession. Access to Pre-Race Parties will not be granted if a member does not have their membership card.
  • Will there be any driver appearances or autograph sessions?
    We do plan on offering special appearances from drivers and celebrities at select events. These appearances will not be advertised until the day of the event.
  • Where are the hours of the party posted?
    The hours and location of the tent and/or hospitality area will be posted on the INDY DownForce website at least 72 hours in advance of race day.
Purchase (Redeemable) and Total (Cumulative) Points
  • Why didn't I get points for attending a race?
    If you had your INDY DownForce membership card scanned at a points event and have not received your points within 10 business days, please contact the INDY DownForce Membership Team at downforce@indycar.com with "Did not receive scanned points for (point type & location)" in the subject line. Members without either a membership card or temporary print out will typically be able to look up their information to redeem their points. This feature will not be accessible for Pre-Race Parties.
  • I'm a new member and don't have my membership card yet. How do I get my points?
  • If you signed up on-site at an event, you will need to write down your temporary membership number (beginning with FT ) and present that upon attending the Pre-Race Party or enter it at the INDY DownForce computers to receive your points for the day. Bring that temporary print out card with you to all points events for point accumulation until you are issued a scannable membership card. If you signed up online, please print out your temporary card number and bring that with you to the race. If you do not have access to a printer, please let the a member of The INDY DownForce Membership Team know on-site and allow 15 business days for your account to be credited accordingly.
  • Where do I go to get my points while I'm at a race?
    You'll need to visit one of the two Indy Fan Zone trailers, or the Mobile Pit Cart in order to receive your points. There will be INDY DownForce Signage to direct members to these locations. Their locations will also be posted on the INDY DownForce website at least 72 hours prior to the event. The INDY Fan Zone location will always be in the race venue's midway unless otherwise noted by email or on the INDY DownForce website.
  • Do I have to use all my Purchase (Redeemable) points by the end of the season?
    Yes. All Purchase points reset January 1st of the next year. These points do NOT roll over like Total (Cumulative) points do.
  • Do Total (Cumulative) points roll over?
    Yes. Total points are what dictate your level in the club.
  • If I miss my renewal date do i keep all of my points?
    You always will keep your total points as these represent your rank in the club, however if your renewal date expires and you renew after the expiration date, your purchase points will reset to zero.
Bus Trips
  • How do I sign up?
    Reservations for bus trips can only be made on the INDY DownForce website prior to 14 days in advance of a trip. Reservations can only be made via Visa or Mastercard credit card.
  • What is the cost?
    There is a $35 reservation for every rider who registers prior to late registration. A premium fee of $45 will be charged for the Iowa bus trip due to extreme mileage. This fee will cover the reservation of the seat, as well as a food and drinks for a picnic style meal, typically consumed prior to departure from the race venue. Late registration requires a $50 reservation and begins 13 days prior to the event and ends 7 days prior.
  • Does the bus have a bathroom?
    Yes.
  • Is there limited availability?
    Yes, there is limited availability. This is on a first come, first serve basis. All overnight trips are limited to 2 busses (53 riders each). If a bus is not at least 60% full at least 14 days prior to departure, may risk being cancelled at the sole discretion of the IndyCar Series staff. All money will be refunded if a bus trip is cancelled due to reservation restrictions.
  • Will the bus pick us up along the way?
    Possibly. INDY DownForce bus trips will only pick up members from the specified locations outlined in the bus trip section of the website. If the bus is able to pick up at a convenient location that is not out of the way, special arrangements may be made through Steve Brown. Please email Steve @ steve@hsnemail.com
  • Can I bring friends that are not INDY DownForce members?
    You are allowed to bring up to 3 guests if they are under the age of 13. If they are 13 or over, they must at least be a Free Trial INDY DownForce member in order to attend. There are no age restrictions on who may attend the bus trips. Free trial members are only able to take one bus trip without becoming a paid member of INDY DownForce.
  • Will the bus make pit stops?
    Please see the itinerary under the GET INVOLVED > BUS TRIPS section of the website on the trip you are going on for complete details of scheduled stops and what to bring.
  • Will there be food and drink on the bus?
    You are responsible for your own food and drinks on the bus trips. A picnic style lunch will be available outside of the bus prior to departure at each venue. The price of this meal is included in the bus trip fee, but all other food during the trip is your responsibility.
  • Will the bus wait for me if I'm late?
    The bus will leave promptly at the times outlined on the INDY DownForce website and in the confirmation details that will be emailed to you. You are the only party responsible if you miss the departure time. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early before each departure to ensure a timely trip.
  • Are alcohol and tobacco allowed on the bus?
    Yes, but consumption of alcohol or smoking of cigarettes is not permitted while the bus is traveling. INDY DownForce bus trips are designed for family fun and a general atmosphere that is compatible with that objective is our aim. Any abuse of alcohol and or of profane language will not be tolerated and will subject the member and their guests to expulsion from future trips.
  • Will there be a Post-Race Party for bus trip riders?
    There will not be a party, but generally there will be a picnic style meal prior to departure. Based on experience, riders prefer to get back home after a long day of IndyCar Series fun. The bus will leave promptly as scheduled. Please be sure to be at your pre-arranged destination 15 minutes before departure.
  • What will the bus do if a race is rained out?
    In the event the race is rained out and the race will not run on the day it is scheduled, the bus will not stay overnight for the event. If the race is delayed and will still run on the same day, they bus will stay for the complete event. Fantasy Racing League
  • If I create a team, am I unable to create or join a new team next season?
    No, at the beginning of every calendar year all prior season teams will be reset and you will have the option to create a new team or join an existing team for the current INDY DownForce Fantasy Racing League season.
  • I am having trouble submitting my picks?
    In order for your fantasy picks to be submitted you need to select all 5 fields (top 3, pole and most laps led, and last place) for the event in which you are making picks. If you fail to do this, your picks will not be submitted for that event.
  • When do my fantasy racing picks need to be submitted by for each race?
    Picks can no longer be edited after 11:59pmET the day before Qualification day for the event.
  • How are team points calculated?
    Team points are calculated by taking your team points divided by the number of races and then divided by the number of team members.
  • How many people can be on a team?
    Either 5 or 10 members to compete.
  • Is there a prize for the Fantasy Racing League winner?
    Yes, the individual winner of the 2008 IndyCar Series Fantasy Racing League will get 4 season tickets to ALL 2009 IndyCar Series events! The winning team will receive two tickets each for the 2009 Indianapolis 500. All Fantasy Racing Players are eligible for the individual grand prize, whether you are on a team or not.
  • My Fantasy Racing League picks are not showing up correctly on the site, what should I do?
    Please give 24 hours for your picks to be displayed. If after that time they are still showing up incorrectly please contact downforce@indycar.com.
  • I had a driver DNF that i had picked for 1st, 2nd or third why did i get -50 points?
    In order to make the Fantasy Racing League more strategic, if your selected driver for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place DNF's at a race, you will be deducted 50 points for each. However you will never go below 0 points for an event.
Viewer Parties
  • How do I set up a viewer party?
    To set up a viewer party, go to the INDY DownForce website and click on the EVENT INFORMATION section. From there, click on the Viewer Parties section and fill out all the information related to your viewer party. Once submitting, you will be contacted by a representative from INDY DownForce to further coordinate your party.
  • What do I get to promote my viewer party?
    The INDY DownForce Membership Team will equip you with an allotment of collateral (posters, banners, schedule pieces, etc) based on the projected size of your party. Your viewer party will also be listed in the Upcoming Events section of the INDY DownForce website. You can expect those items at least one week prior to your viewer party.
  • Does it cost money to throw a viewer party?
  • There are no costs to sanction an INDY DownForce Viewer Party. However, you are responsible for any hard costs to throw your party.
  • Can I throw a viewer party at my house or does it have to be somewhere public?
    You can throw a viewer party anywhere you would like. However, in order to receive your points for the viewer party, it must be available to all INDY DownForce members and photos that highlight your party must be taken and sent to downforce@indycar.com to verify that the party took place.

  • How do I enter? For every 200 purchase (redeemable) and total (cumulative) points you earn during the sweepstakes term, you will receive 1 entry into the sweepstakes. There is no limit to the number of entries you can receive.

    Welcome to the Indy Racing League, LLC electronic message board ("Discussion Forum"), a service operated by the Indy Racing League . This agreement ("the Agreement") between the Indy Racing League and you governs your use of the Indy Racing League Discussion Forum. Your use of the Discussion Forum constitutes your acceptance without modification of all of the terms, conditions, and notices contained herein. In consideration of your agreement to these Terms of Use and for other valuable consideration, the Indy Racing League grants to you a nonexclusive, nontransferable, limited, terminable license to access and use the Discussion Forum only in the United States. The Indy Racing League reserves all rights not expressly granted in this Agreement. To improve our ability to serve you, the Indy Racing League may make modifications, improvements, deletions, or amendments to the Discussion Forum at any time we deem appropriate. You will remain liable for any unauthorized use of your participant username and password.

    The Discussion Forum is available only to individuals over the age of eighteen. you represent that you are not under the age of eighteen. In addition, you agree to be responsible for (i) prohibiting use and/or access to the Discussion Forum by those under the age of eighteen; and (ii) limiting access to your computer or the Internet to the extent necessary to restrict use of the Discussion Forum to those over the age of eighteen.

You are solely responsible for payment of all costs or fees associated with the purchase of products and services from vendors which advertise on this Discussion Forum, including payment of all shipping charges, applicable sales tax, or other taxes, assessments, or fees imposed by applicable law.

    3. Failure to Comply With Terms and Conditions; Termination

    This Agreement is effective until terminated by either you or the Indy Racing League . You acknowledge and agree that the Indy Racing League may terminate this Agreement or suspend or deny you access to all or part of the Discussion Forum without prior notice, if you engage in any conduct or activities that the Indy Racing League in its sole discretion believes violate any of the terms and conditions set forth herein, violate the rights of the Indy Racing League , or are otherwise inappropriate. You may terminate this Agreement at any time for any reason by delivering notice in the manner provided in this Agreement. Termination will be effective the day notice is received or at a later date if such is specified in the notice.

    4. Trademark and Copyright Policy

    The Indy Racing League is the owner and/or authorized user of any trademark, registered trademark and/or service mark appearing on the Discussion Forum, and is the copyright owner or licensee of the content and/or information on the Discussion Forum, including but not limited to any screens appearing on the Discussion Forum. The Indy Racing League does not grant to any participant any license or other authorization to copy or use its trademarks, registered trademarks, service marks, copyrightable material, or other intellectual property, except as provided herein. Various products and services described on the Discussion Forum may carry registered or other trademarked symbols that are the sole property of their respective owners.

    You may view, print, and download portions of the content and/or information of the Discussion Forum solely in connection with your use of the Discussion Forum, and solely for your own use or records. The Indy Racing League reserves the right to revoke this authorization at any time. In printing or downloading content and/or information from the Discussion Forum, you agree not to change or delete any proprietary notices, trademarks, and the like from any printed or downloaded content and/or information.

    Except as otherwise provided in this Agreement or as consented to in writing by the Indy Racing League , you may not modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, frame in another web page, use on any other Discussion Forum, transfer, or sell any content and/or information appearing on the Discussion Forum. Furthermore, you may not attempt to view, disclose, copy, reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile or otherwise examine the Discussion Forum source code. If you make use of the Discussion Forum other than as authorized herein, you may be in violation of copyright laws and other laws of the United States and other countries, as well as applicable state laws, and may be subject to penalties and/or legal or equitable remedies available to the Indy Racing League or its licensor.

    You shall not provide copyrighted or other proprietary information to the Indy Racing League without permission from the owner of such material or such rights and shall be solely responsible for any damages resulting from such disclosures. participants shall be solely responsible for obtaining such permission.     You understand and expressly agree that use of the Discussion Forum is at your sole risk. In addition, no warranty is made as to the results that may be obtained from use of the Discussion Forum, or as to the accuracy, reliability, or content of any information, including any potential product or service, provided through or in connection with the Discussion Forum.

    Although the Indy Racing League uses reasonable security and encryption provisions, we do not guarantee and make no representations or warranties concerning our ability to prevent unauthorized access of or tampering with the Discussion Forum or information accessible through the Discussion Forum.     NEITHER THE Indy Racing League NOR ANY OF ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, AGENTS, REPRESENTATIVES, OR LICENSORS (COLLECTIVELY, Indy Racing League ASSOCIATES') SHALL BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY COMPENSATORY, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR ATTORNEYS' FEES, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE DISCUSSION FORUM OR INABILITY TO GAIN ACCESS TO OR USE THE DISCUSSION FORUM OR OUT OF ANY BREACH OF ANY WARRANTY, EVEN IF THE Indy Racing League OR THE Indy Racing League ASSOCIATE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. BECAUSE SOME STATES OR JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF LIABILITY FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, IN SUCH STATES AND JURISDICTIONS LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. YOU SPECIFICALLY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT NEITHER THE IRL NOR ANY Indy Racing League ASSOCIATE IS LIABLE FOR THE DEFAMATORY, OFFENSIVE OR ILLEGAL CONDUCT OF DISCUSSION FORUM PARTICIPANTS OR THIRD PARTIES AND THAT THE RISK OF INJURY FROM THE FOREGOING RESTS ENTIRELY WITH YOU. CESSATION OF YOUR USE OF THE DISCUSSION FORUM IS YOUR SOLE RIGHT AND REMEDY WITH RESPECT TO ANY DISPUTE WITH THE Indy Racing League .

    You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Indy Racing League , its agents and employees, and the Indy Racing League Associates, from and against any claims, damages, costs, and expenses, including all costs of legal proceedings and attorneys' fees, arising in connection with use of the Discussion Forum by you or by anyone using your username and password, or in connection with a violation or breach of this Agreement by you or by anyone using your username and password, including without limitation, (i) claims based on defamation or other conduct by you in using the Discussion Forum, or (ii) your violation of any intellectual property laws including without limitation those relating to copyright, trademarks or trade secrets.

    You agree that regardless of any statute or law to the contrary, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to use of the Discussion Forum must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action accrues or be forever barred.

    7. General

    You acknowledge and agree that the provisions, disclosures and disclaimers set forth in this Agreement are fair and reasonable and your agreement to follow and be bound by them is not the result of fraud, duress or undue influence exercised upon you by any person or entity. You acknowledge and agree that the Discussion Forum is for your personal and non-commercial use.

    Nothing in this Agreement shall be construed to establish a joint venture, agency, employment, or other business relationship between you and the Indy Racing League . You acknowledge that no verbal representations or guarantees have been made to you, except as set out in this Agreement. This Agreement and the relationship between you and the Indy Racing League shall be governed by the laws of the State of Indiana without regard to any conflict of law provisions of any State. You and the Indy Racing League agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located within Marion County, Indiana, in the event of any dispute arising under this Agreement, and waive any future right to object to such jurisdiction and venue.

    The failure of the Indy Racing League to exercise or enforce any right or provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any provision of the Agreement is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, the parties nevertheless agree that the court should endeavor to give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in the provision, and the other provisions of the Agreement shall remain in full force and effect. The headings used in this Agreement are for convenience only and such headings are not to be used in determining the meaning or interpretation of this Agreement. Any ambiguities in this Agreement shall not be strictly construed against the drafter of the language concerned, but shall be resolved by applying the most reasonable interpretation under the circumstances, giving full consideration to the intentions of the parties at the time of contracting. This Agreement shall not be construed against any party by reason of its preparation. The provisions of Sections 7 and 8 of this Agreement are for the benefit of the Indy Racing League Associates, and each shall have the right to assert and enforce the provisions directly on their own behalf. The provisions of this Agreement which by their nature extend beyond the termination of this Agreement shall survive termination of this Agreement, including but not limited to those set forth in Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.

    You shall have no right to assign all or any part of this Agreement, and any attempt to do so shall be void. The Indy Racing League shall have the right to assign this Agreement and to sublicense any and all of its rights under this Agreement. This Agreement, including any documents referenced herein and any additional operating rules as posted on the Discussion Forum represents the entire understanding between you and the Indy Racing League regarding your relationship with the Indy Racing League and your use of the Discussion Forum. This Agreement supersedes all previous written or oral agreements between you and the Indy Racing League with respect to such subject matter. Notwithstanding any provisions of this Agreement, the Indy Racing League has available all remedies at law or equity to enforce this Agreement. BY USING THE DISCUSSION FORUM YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT.

    Where required, the Indy Racing League may give notice to you by a general posting on the Discussion Forum, by electronic mail, or by conventional mail to your address contained in the participant information. You may give notice to the Indy Racing League by electronic mail or by conventional mail to the address below.
